Lingerie: Expectations vs. Reality

Hey Lovelies,

Today we are tackling the sad truth of reality. Yes, dears, it was bound to happen and yet, even I didn’t think it would come so soon. We all have expectations and rarely if ever, do they match our reality. With that sentiment, “expectation versus reality memes” were born, and shared to the joy, chagrin, and amusement of those who could relate or knew someone who could.

The truth is Expectation versus reality situations are not unique to only shopping and can pretty much occur in every facet of life. In consideration of that, today we are going to be exploring 2 expectation vs reality situations that involve lingerie and easy ways to avoid them.

Expectation: Underwiring should bring comfort.

Reality: Your boob and back feel like a trapped fish in a net.

Why: The truth is every day we are slimmer in the morning and a little stouter as the hour's pass. There are many reasons for this; posture, consumption of food, and good old bloating.

Help: Try and start your day at the tighter end of the band and loosen it up every three hours. This should have you feeling a lot more comfortable at the end of the day.

If you don’t want to deal with the hassle, try some of our underwire free sets.

Expectation: Buying your regular size with a new lingerie brand should be fine.

Reality: being faced with an uncomfortable pair that doesn’t fit right.

Why: For those familiar with my letters, you already know this, but it never hurts to say it again; different brands have different sizing criteria. There isn’t a set and mandatory sizing policy to follow, and while for the most part, many brands will likely follow the general sizing format it is wrong to assume that all brands will.

Help: always check the sizing chart, always.

Remember something as simple as the region could change the sizing variation, for instance, a UK 8 is an American 10-12 depending on the brand.
