This Sunday, August 5th, was National Underwear Day in America. While it might seem a bit random to have a special day devoted to underwear (you wear it every day, after all—or at least we hope you do), at Lavinia we never pass up an opportunity to celebrate lingerie. Here are some tips to inspire you to celebrate your lingerie even on a regular day.
Embrace underwear as outerwear
This does not point out all those fabulous and still challenging sheer dresses as your next wardrobe move (if you would like to, pick a bodysuit for the perfect combo). With Madonna turning 60 this month, the time feels right to step out in a corset or bustier to revive the underwear-as-outerwear trend. Wear your best lingerie
We all have a matching lingerie set that we like to save for special occasions. If you have a set by the likes of Aubade, Ajour, Conturelle or Lise Charmel taking up space in the back of your underwear drawer, how about slipping it on? You’ll feel fabulous all day—even if you’re doing nothing more glamorous than grocery shopping and walking the dog. Or - surprise your spouse by wearing just that at the dinner table set only for you two.
