National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
We probably don’t need to tell you that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to help increase awareness of breast cancer. Perhaps you’re already wearing a pink ribbon, or taking part in a sponsored walk to help people affected by the disease.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a campaign that’s particularly close to our hearts at Lavinia Lingerie. Janine Kruze founded the company with her husband Armands in 2002. The website was very much Janine’s baby, and she always dreamed of creating her own lingerie line too. Sadly, Janine became ill with breast cancer and passed away three years ago, before she could bring her lingerie collection to life. Since then, Armands has been working to produce the Lavinia collection in her memory—and finally, with new releases of our own-brand lingerie, her dream has come true.
At this time of year, we’re proud to be joining the fight against breast cancer in honor of Janine.
Lavinia Lingerie will be donating 5 percent of all sales to charities dedicated to fighting cancer, and to support people affected by the disease. Our donation will be split between six charities: Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Cancer Research Institute, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, National Breast Cancer Coalition, National Breast Cancer Foundation.
