The New Year Secret

The New Year Secret

Hey Lovelies,

It’s the New year season, which means resolutions. For most of us, there is one resolution we make every year but can never seem to hack. It’s the resolution that seems easy at first but then falls short much too soon, its to lose weight or get fit.

Losing weight and adopting a healthier lifestyle always seems easier on paper or in our mental notes. However, execution is often harder than we initially suspect, worse, it happens every year without fail. So, how do we tackle something so bothersome, and why?

Well for one, it's important to live a healthy lifestyle, and that doesn’t always correlate with how much we weigh. The weight itself is based on both muscle and fat content, it also looks very different depending on height which means higher or lower numbers are not obvious signifiers of good health. This is why its important to not simply “lose weight” but to live healthily.

Now, that being said, it doesn’t make the work any easier. For instance, living a healthy life can prove just as difficult as trying to physically shed weight or even more so, considering there are many unhealthy weight loss options out there. Also, physically losing weight can be a factor of a healthy choice, but not everyone is able to metabolize as swiftly as others.

With all these factors to consider, it is no surprise that many people struggle with this resolution annually. While I cannot promise extreme results. I can offer 1 great tip to not only living healthier but shedding some unhealthy fat. This tip is so easy you are going to be wondering why you never tried it.

Increase in water Intake. Yes, you read right. Believe it or not, water is the secret to a healthy lifestyle. It is not simply enough to stay minimally hydrated. Many of us estimate about two glasses of water a day, this is bad. The reason our bodies don’t feel it is because we gain hydration from other liquids we consume in the day. Our bodies are also really great at adapting to situations, this means the less hydration you get the slower your body will exert itself, to prevent dehydration. As a result, you are burning far less fat than you should be. While most liquids will, in theory, keep you hydrated, water is the only one that won't cause dehydration or slow down digestive function.

The basic recommendation is 8 cups a day. You might experience an increase in your toilet visits, but you’ll feel a lot more energized and notice a significant change in weight. The trick is to pace yourself with the intake as well, and not simply gulp down excessive amounts in a short period of time.
